Default Windows will not close on desktop

The X does not work. I have to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to close windows then that
window on menu bar. How can I fix this err?

What's the history of the problem? Did it start suddenly recently? If so
what changes were made between the time things worked and now. Undo the
changes. Uninstall any new software. Then if needed do a system restore to
a point when things worked ok.

How do you back date to an earlier setup? I can do it in XP. but i do not
know how to do it in Vista.

I mean how do you do that system restore?

Control Panel > Backup & Restore Centre


ps. Has 'help' been disabled on you pc?

Click the Start orb | Help and Support. Search on System restore, it
provides a wealth of information.
