Windows Vista reduce reboot or prevent reboots after Windows Updat

Windows Vista reduce reboot or prevent reboots after Windows Update is
installed.

During Windows Vista Beta in 2005 i remember them talking about how Windows
Vista will prevent or will reduce reboot because it has a new feature called
restart manager or reboots manager but now that Windows Vista is finish all
of the Windows Update that was released this year required a restart. Maybe
this feature will improve in SP1 or SP2. What do you think about it? Do you
think this feature was successful or just another failure attempt or just
plain forgotten features?

Even with SP1, or SP2 or SP3, or ... it is unlikely that software
patches will be installed without requiring a reboot. Else the whole
attempt at memory management by Vista could fail.

Hi,

The biggest problem with this is that some files cannot be released to be
replaced. They are critical core files that the OS depends on to function.
These can only be replaced during a restart where they are not in use yet.
To get around this, a process must be put in place that provides the same
function as the file while it is replaced with a newer version. That's not
all that easy.
