windows upgrade/installer/add features problems

Hello all,
This is my 1st post here, so, please be gentle with me.

Currently running vista ultimate x64 on asus m2n32-sli deluxe m/b with
4 gig ram and AMD 6000+ X2
I have these 3 problems (probably more tho.lol )

1 windows update cant scan for updates error 80070246

2 when i try to install adobe reader 8/ serif pageplus 12/ logitech
quickcam11 software i get a very similar error thrown up each
time......
Error 1935..error occurred during installation of assembly
"microsoft.VC80,ATL type="win32" version 8.0.50727.762 publickeytoken
1fc8b3b9a1e18a3b processor architecture="amd64" refer to help and
support

3 in control panel, add remove windows features, when i double click
this the "windows features" window comes up with "please wait"
inside..then displays nothing, window is empty.

I'm having a real tough time with vista:cry:
So any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks in advance

Clean re-install (format c: ) did the job !!
