Default Windows Media Player 11 for Vista 32 bit Home Premium Edition

My Windows Media Player 11 freezes up when I try to watch a video from a link
and /or site. I just got this laptop last week, and the Media Player worked
fine for this for a few days, and now everytime I try to watch a streaming
video it doesn't download it and it freezes up right away. I can't even lay
it down or close it. All I can see is that circle going around and around
next to my mouse arrow. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I would
uninstall this media player and re download it, but I don't see any option
for this =/
