When I try to download an .exe file my PC will restart

When I try to download an .exe file from the internet my PC will restart.
I've tryed to save as and run both will not work.

How about a little more information on what you are doing. Does the PC
restart during the download? Does the PC restart when you try and save?
When you try and run? When all the above happens?

What program is it? Does it happen with any file you download ?

Yes it happens when I try all of the above and it just happens when I try to
download .exe files and it dose not matter if i use IE7 or firefox
