Vista 'Windows Wrong Volume' Error Message

I receive this message every time I try and open a MS WORD attachment from a
Windows Mail message:

'Exception Processing Message 0xc0000012 Parameters 0x7626023C
0x7626023C 0x8952F684 0x7626023C'

Pressing 'Continue' opens Word 2007, and the message is then repeated.
Pressing 'Continue' again opens the document.

This is a new problem - something has changed as all was well until the last
few weeks.
