I have three computers of which I mostly just use 2. I use my laptop very
infrequently, so today I thought I would give it a "Run Out" charge it up
etc. But it keeps switching its self on and off saying it is installing 3 of
3 updates, but it has done it a dozen times so far. I am currently running
the "Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool" any sugestions?
Boot to Safe Mode (F8 on restart) You can edit the entry out of the runOnce
key. (remove the Value)
start orb/ type: regedt32
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnce
..

Thanks for your reply,
No as soon as it went into safe mode it loaded all the system files then did
exactly the same as before. It gets to the point of "configuring updates 3 of
3" then closes down and restarts again! Don't know how to get to the runOnce
key though!
