Default Vista and Skype

It took me a while to figure this out, so I thought I'd share it.

Skype will install and run under Vista. You'll be able to call others, and
even the beta video feature will work.

However, if anyone tries to call your computer, they will receive a
"rejection" message saying that you only accept calls from people in your
contact list. This will happen even if the caller is in your contact list,
or you have configured Skype to accept calls from all callers.

The reason for this is the Windows Firewall. For some reason, it will allow
outbound internet access by Skype, but it blocks in-bound calls. To correct
this, open Windows Firewall in the Control Panel, select "Allow a program
through the firewall," and manually check Skype.

After this, Skype will function normally.

I've been using Skype with Vista for six months and have had none of these
problems, and the firewall exception has always been made automatically on
installation.

I have noticed a few times that the firewall exception for Skype
becomes unchecked. I don't know why... sometimes after a reboot
or after shutting down Skype. But, I haven't noticed any problems
with receiving messages and/or calls.

Does anyone know why skype drops calls after 20-30 while holding a
conference with at least 15 people? Vista Home Basic, Premium and
Ultimate?
