Default System Volume Information Files

Hi all,

I'm running Vista Business on a home PC, I have system restore activated and
have done so on this PC with XP before upgrading the system to Vista.
Unfortunately due to this fact my hard drive is rapidly filling up with
System Volume Information files dating back to 2006. I've tried switching off
system restore and performing a disk cleanup but I just can't get rid of
these files and they are just wasted HD space. Can anyone give me any
suggestions, I've already tried deleting the files in safe mode and using
administrators privilidges, but to no avail I just can't access the
folder.............Help!!!

"System Volume Information" is where all the data pertaining to restore
points are kept. Try deleting some older restore points.

Yep I've done that, but there is still several gig of these files that I
can't delete.
