Default System Restore Layman

I want to run System Restore in order to undo some updates that were done to
one of my software programs, e.g. I want to use the old version of the
software (which is not available on the web). Is system restore appropriate
for this task? If so will it alter my email, word docs etc to their previous
states? The latter would defeat the purpose in my view, but I don't fully
comprehend how restore works.

Thank You

Hi,

System restore only changes Windows systems back to where they were -
it will not change your own documents. Doubtful whether it would restore
your program as the update changed the programs files.

You could try, of course - I would make sure you have the setup files
for the program in question in case you need to reinstall it.

A good tip is to always make a copy of a programs setup files e.g. on
a cd in case you need it some time in the future.

Hope this helps
