Default Streaming Media

Is anyone able to listen to any internet audio stream for more than a few
minutes before the stream has to be rebuffered and is followed by persistent
intermittent hiccoughs? This is regardless of player. In fact the Windows
Media Player is no better than any other and sometimes worse than listening
to the same source with Itunes.
I ask because I have this problem and at least two other people are fed up
with Vista over the same issue. In both those cases Vista came pre-installed
and pre-configured on systems from major manufacturers.
Is there a solution or is this another random Vista problem with no
explanation or solution?
Are there arcane firewall settings that have to be altered?
Peculiar settings for the Internet connection?

Smacks more of a bandwidth issue than a Vista fault. Check with your
ISP that you are getting what you are paying for.
