Default Strange Display Issues

I tried to switch my wallpaper to a different image, and it stretched the
image to fit the screen. Even when I go into the personalize section and
change it to centered, it doesn't have any effect. I've tried changing my
display size from 1440x900 to 800x600, but no change (the image I tried to
change to was 800x600). So I tried a 100x100 size image, and it stretched
it, as well. Any suggestions?

Using an 800x600 picture at 800x600 display resolution, the difference
between Stretched and Centered will be negligible. You could try this.
With your display set at its highest resolution (1440x900?) ), go to the
picture you want as a background using Windows Explorer, right-click on it,
and choose Set as Desktop Background (i.e., don't use
Personalization\Desktop Background to pick your picture). Then go to
Personalization\Desktop Background and try the position choices. (Not that
you'd want it, but does Tile work when chosen?)

Actually, I tried it both ways. The first way I did it was the right-click
and set as desktop way, with my resolution at 1440x900 (I've got a 17 inch
widescreen Dell). When that looked funky, I tried it through the
personalization menu. No luck there, either. I've tried both ways with
different images, still get it stretched out funky. And, no, Tile does not
work when chosen. There's no difference between the 3 options as far as the
way the wallpaper looks. I tried that using my 100x100 image, because I knew
that would tile, but it still just stretched it out.

Oh yeah, and the link you gave me .... Might as well be in Klingon. LOL.
