Not to burst anyone's bubble, but if SP1's speed "improvement" isrelying
on the 2 performance updates that are listed as being included in SP1,
that I have ALREADY installed, then SP1 is gonna be a HUGE
disappointment.
I'd be happy if they could fix the frickin search issues when utilizing
indexing. Right now it's worse than without indexing on my 2 pc's.

gigs required as min free space on your HDD in order to install it (for

postings, you'll find that mentioned several times.
That is my point.
The "they" in your post is not speaking for Microsoft.
There are a variety of dates posted and have been for quite some time.
Microsoft seldom makes any official statements about release dates
this far in advance.
What we see are some simply guessing and others making educated
guesses.
Some sites thrive on being the first even if they have no proof, they
just want to be first.
