Default So internet speeds.

I have a 15mbit cable line and 4 boxes on my home network. 3 wireless and
one wired. My two XP boxes (1 pro and 1 home are running at about 12mbit
down and 1mbit up. My Suse linux box is screaming along at about
14mbit/1mbit. My sons brand new laptop chugs along between 6mbit and 8mbit /
600kbps down running vista home premium. Seems to slow down the longer it is
connected.

The funny thing is that the other boxes dont even come close to the specs of
this Vista lappy.

I am beginning to think I would be better of scrapping Vista and either
going with XP PRO or Some linux distro.

What should I be checking to increase the internet speed with Vista??

Thanks
