Default Size of images,,,

I intstalled Windows Vista and now ALL of my images, icons, web pages are
jumbo-sized, almost as if it was set up for someone that couldn't see well.
I've tried several avenues, but still keep getting "super-sized."

Please Help!!

Hold down the Ctrl key and rotate the mouse wheel to resize your icons.

If you have a window open you first have to click on the desktop. Then hold
down the control key and rotate the mouse wheel. The desktop needs the
focus.
