Default Sidewinder Precision 2 install problem w/Vista

I got a new computer with Vista. Am having problems installing some older
software, with the joystick being one of them. It seems to install ok until
the end of the install. I get a screen asking if I'm sure I want to exit the
installation. If I click No, the setup screen stays on but does nothing.
Click Yes, and it exits the install.

Afterwards I hook up the joystick, the computer searches and finds the
drivers. The software is listed in programs. I can open the Sidewinder
Central, and open the Control panel:Game Controller. But if I click on
Properties, it pops up with "Internal erro may be due to low system
resources...and tells me to reinstall the software. When I click to exit that
box, I get a box that says "RUNDLL32 has stopped working"

Can someone help here. I alreadt have ot get a new scanner because mine
isn't supported and my printer works so-so (not 100%). I dont want ot have ot
go out and buy another joystick too if I don't have to.

Uninstall the software, then just plug in the Sidewinder2. Vista has drivers
for it.

Thanks for the response . I just tried what you advised. I then installed
the joystick software and found it still does the exact same thing.

Do I not install the software? If no, then how do I access the joystick?

Thanks
