Default Search Indexing..

Why can't I turn off the search indexing on my main C drive? When I
try, it tells me I need admin access, which I proceed to give it. Then
I get a bunch of access denied errors on files located in my boot folder
(which I have hidden) at which point I just cancel the entire thing.

Do I need to login to the super admin account to do this?
