Default Re: SDHC memory cards

SDHC cards use the same physical format as SD cards but
cannot be used with SD host devices that do not comply with
SDA Specifications Version 2.00.

Default RE: SDHC memory cards

Hi,

Although SD and SDHC cards share the same physical format, that is where the
similarity ends. SD cards have storage capacities of up to 2GB, but above
that a different internal data structure has to be used. To distinguish
between them, cards using this data structure are denoted as SDHC. Think of
it this way. When Windows 9x came out, it used the FAT and FAT32 file
systems. These systems are incapable of reading the NTFS format of XP and
Vista. XP and Vista, on the other hand, have no problems in understanding the
older filing system. There are internal card readers available that can read
SDHC as well as the conventional SD cards (I have one installed on my
machine), and you can buy SDHC cards that come with a USB adapter in order to
use them on machines that either don't have a card reader or that have one
that cannot read the newer format.
