Default Screen Flicker

I recently installed Vista (clean) and am noticing a flicker (long
flicker-flash to black) in the screen at random times. Is this a type of
refresh setting? It is becoming painfuly annoying.

Thanks-

What you describe does not sound like a refresh problem - especially if
seen on an LCD flat-panel monitor.

Verify that the video cable is seated securely.

Check for Vista certified drivers from the chip or card manufacturer's
WEBsite.

You can check the refresh rate of your LCD by going to Display Settings (Start > search for Personalization > Display Settings). Then select Advanced. Change the tab to Monitor, and the refresh rate can be viewed or changed from the drop menu. My refresh rate for my LCD is 60Hertz. You can also troubleshoot your montior, change the settings (admin required), and change the graphics card settings from the that window.

Good luck.
