WLM hasn't given me any problems either, that doesn't make it the best.
Have you used parted on Ubuntu?
I am trying to use it but it dumps every time when I click apply.

Anyone know why Pan would DL somewhere around 100,000 newsgroups, and
WinMail somewhere around 56,000.

Try Knode: open a terminal and type, without the quotes: "sudo apt-get
install knode" and then hit Enter. You'll probably have to type in your
password. Note that passwords don't show up in a terminal so when you're
done typing your password, hit Enter again.

My preferred choice for binaries is hellanzb, though you need NZB files
for it to be useful which can be obtained via websites that offer NZB
indexing services.
Go on the website, search for whatever binary I want...
Download .nzb file...
Hellanzb then goes and gets it for me unattended and drops it into a
directory when done. I absolutely love it.
For regular text access, it's Pan for me. Works reasonably well I think.
