Thanks for that update, BUT I have lost my Realtek control panel that used
to sit in the RH Tray. Can't seem to find where it is as a program to put
it back there

Any ideas? The sounds are working though

Reinstall the drivers - same thing has happened to me a couple times
with realtek drivers.

The most reliable time to upgrade to a new Operating System is at the
end of its life cycle.

Nope, I looked there first, but it has disappeared from there.

In the location for the unzipped files from the 1.73 download, you can see
the file RtHDVCpl.exe in the Vista Folder within that group, but it does
nothing and doesn't seem to have been installed anywhere in a search.

I liked that Control Panel, an excellent way to check and alter the speakers

Umm, I have done that twice already, OK here goes a third. Each time I have
done it with and without elevated Admin privileges and with all Virus stuff
off.

GO FIGURE!!! Installed it for the third time and all went well and I have
my control panel back.

Only thing I did different was to empty out the TEMP folder, in case
anything was jammed in there as a partial install.

Thanks your help, hope it helps others

Hi Frenchy,

Yeah, I noticed that I would need to install the Realtek driver from
within an Administrator account twice. Once to uninstall the old
version and the second time to install the new one. Of course with a
restart for each. (haha) Then it runs smooth as can be.
