Default Never Got SP1

I have a Dell laptop that's about a year old and a new Dells XPS
desktop that I got in April just before PCs started shipping with
SP1. Both machines have VISTA Ultimate. I have my Windows Update set
to notify me when new updates become available, but not to install
automatically. I have never received notification of SP1 on either
machine. Shouldn't it have come through by now?

Shut up you piece of ****. He now can get SP1 and install it.

You are too stupid to configure your copy of Vista. You can't even copy
files without a problem. Millions of others can copy files but Ringmaster
the retard can't. Go figure. Maybe DOS 6.22 is more your style.

It shows the icon and tells me there are updates, and I have installed
dozens of them since getting either machine (the last of which crashed
the computer so I had to go back to a restore point).

My question is, since I'm getting a steady stream of updates, why
hasn't SP1 been among them?

On a Dell machine (mine is XPS410) I would suspect that you need to install
the latest driver for your on-board audio driver especially if is an
SigmaTel driver.

there are many reasons why you are not seeing SP1, most likely the reason is
that
you have a non compatible driver installed and SP1 is not showing to "save"
you from installing SP1 with a bad driver
thus messing your system up.

That's fine but vista is dumb not to TELL you the reason WHY its now showing
SP1 right. BAD DESIGN once again vista sucks.

see here for detailed information:

yanaire the idiot told you to download and install, but MS does NOT advise
that unless you have resolved the issues.....

We have a bunch of computer illiterate morons in here, starting with FRANK

Thanks - that's a great KB article. I do have some updates that I
didn't install. As I said, the last one I got crashed the system. I
will back up the entire thing and try again to get all updates
installed.
