Default Network Drive Does not Remember Password

Hi, here’s hoping you can help solve my Network problem.

When I access my correctly mapped network drive, Vista (Home Premium) asks
me for my username and password even though I provided it when I mapped it
originally and chose the option to “reconnect at log on”.

Is there a way to for Vista to remember my password so I don’t need to do
this each time, it drives me nuts!

(Please subscribe to this thread so you can get updates)..

Thanks in advance

Since you haven't told us whether the "network drive" is on a domain or
not; or whether the "network drive" is one on another computer that is
shared - and if so, what OS it is running; or if the "network drive" is
a NAS....

So briefly:

1. Vista Home Premium cannot join a domain so if this is where the
"network drive" is, you'll have to keep authenticating or upgrade to
Business or Ultimate.

2. If the "network drive" is hosted on another computer, have you
created an identical username/password on that machine?

On the off-chance that your situation is #2, here is a link that
explains Vista networking quite well:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/net.../vista_fp.mspx

If I guessed wrong about your situation, please post back with the
missing details.
