Default My solution for sleep problems

Well I have solved the sleep problem for my computer. My computer would only
go as far as powering down my monitor, but the computer itself would not
sleep. After trying everything (and I do have a wireless keyboard and mouse)
I found my culprit. I have a home network and media sharing was turned on.
Somehow this is what was preventing my computer from going into sleep mode. I
turned off media sharing in the Network and Sharing Center and rebooted my
computer. After that no problem with sleeping at all.

Hope this helps others.

Marc

That's a new one I hadn't heard - thanks. I was going nuts trying to figure
this out and the thing that finally worked for me was turning off the "Wake
on Lan" setting of my NIC card (under Properties, advanced settings I think
from Device Manager). Not sure who posted that gem, but I am in their debt.

I also have Media Sharing turned on but really have no need for it. I'll
probably turn that off too just to be safe.
