Default Missing Uninstall button in Window Vista

I am trying to uninstall a program in Window Vista home Premium. I goto:

Control Panel -> Uninstall a program

It indicates "To uninstall a program, select it from the list then click
"Uninstall", .." But I don't see any "Uninstall" button there. I believe I
saw it before, but not its gone. Please help. Thanx.

Feifei

You should see a command bar at the top of the programs list in that window
with Organize / View / Uninstall. The uninstall button only appears when you
click a program in the list.

If you don't see this bar, click the program you want to uninstall and then
press the ALT key. This should force the old style menu bar to appear at the
top of the window. Click File and Uninstall should appear there.

Nice tip, Ronnie, I never looked there (though I have the menu bar
activated). Someone else posted recently where uninstall didn't appear for
any program even when clicking on a program. I wonder if this would have
worked for them? Thanks.

I noticed yesterday when uninstalling an earlier version of an HP
utility.

It says if you want to "uninstall, change or repair" In my case only
Uninstall came up when highlighting the particular action -- what
determines if the others appear? The way the utility programmer wrote
the install / uninstall routine?

Yes. Usually if it appears in that list then there is at least an uninstall
for the program. Some will appear with other options like change or repair.

Ronnie,

I followed your instruction and I still couldn't find the uninstall button.
Something has really gone wrong here. I click on many programs in the list,
and the uninstall button just doesn't show up in the command bar no matter
which program I select.

Furthermore, I press the ATL key, and the uninstall doesn't show up under
File. When I click File, all I see are:

Create Shortcut,
Delete
Rename
Properties
Close

Oh this is so frustrating. I spent over 2 hours just to look for the
uninstall button.

How about when you right click on the program, does Uninstall then show up?
