Default media center channel lineup does not match cable service provider

the media center channel lineup is not matching my cable service provider.

our cable service provider has changed their channels (i.e. channel 55 used
to be WNBC, but RCN (our provider) has moved WNBC to channel 20). This is
just one example. Lots of the channels have been re-arranged. It is
affecting television under media center very severely.

I can find NO help on microsoft's site to report this. I can't find
anywhere to report that microsoft NEEDS TO UPDATE THEIR CHANNEL LINEUP.

who do i contact? please help me if you can, because television under media
center has become very unusable.

thank you,

bob

For my area code, there are 4 or 5 listings for my cable company. They have
slightly different channel lineups, so I have to try different ones until I
get one that is correct. So maybe you can try another listing, or another
city...

Also, you can edit and/or renumber channels...

I found this for XP....

And there is a newsgroup for Media Center..

you should make sure you picked the right cable operator and type (digital
or analog) when you setup MCE ... you can always go back to reset that ...
