Default Laptop won't recognize a 2 GB SD card...

nor can I even boot if the card is installed (the first item on the boot
list in CMOS is the hard drive, followed by the DVD drive). I wanted
the 2 GB card for Readyboost use. A 1 GB micro SD card works fine, as
does a 1 GB SD card. IF i boot windows and then pop in the 2 GB card,
explorer won't show it, nor does the dialog box pop up for what action
to take. The only visual item that indicates a device has been
installed is the Safely Remove Hardware icon. I have another laptop
which works fine with the 2 GB cards. BTW, I tried 2 2GB cards, in case
one was faulty. Both 2 GB cards work fine elsewhere.

Anyone ever heard of this issue? Dunno if its Vista or the hardware
that is at fault. (its a Gateway MT3708 with 1 GB of RAM).
