So far this update has downloaded and installed itself successfully 11
times. It has never required a reboot. I gather that this particular
update is to correct problems which might be preventing the update to SP1
and that SP1 will not be available through Update until these problems are
corrected. Every time I check for updates, this one is still there and will
once again download and install! Help!!
Go to Start > Run > type in or copy and paste the below into the Open: line
%windir%\windowsupdate.log
Click OK or press Enter
Scroll down to the very bottom of the now open WindowsUpdate.log.
Now work your way back up the log until you find either a WARNING or
FATAL entry.
Copy and paste a section of the log that precedes the WARNING or FATAL
entry and the section right after that into your reply, please.

KB947281 is *supposed* to rectify the 800B0100 error code.
First, go to Start > Run > copy and paste the below into the Open: line
and then click OK or press Enter -
%windir%\logs\cbs\checksur.log
Post the contents of the CheckSUR.log so we can see if it did indeed run
successfully and what inconsistencies it found if it did so run.
IF the log does not exist or shows it did not run nor detect any
inconsistencies, then suggest you download it manually and save it:
Then go here and make the registry edits shown under " How can I
manually install and run CheckSUR to troubleshoot my system? "
*Strongly* advise you to export this reg key prior to deleting it:
You can Merge it back into the registry if need be later by double
clicking it.
After editing the registry close the browser and any other open programs
and restart the system.
Then run Windows6.0-KB947821-x86.msu by *right* clicking it and choose
'Run as administrator'. In the User Account Control dialog box, click
Continue or enter a password, whichever is applicable.
