Default Interface questions

Whenever I do a "Save As" type operation, the folders appear in a 2 column
display format that I think is quite horrible. How can I make it appear by
default as the Details view, which is what my folder options are set to?

How can I make the Services screen appear, by default, in "Standard" mode.
Also, can I change the default column widths so that I can actually see the
full names of the services?

Regards,
Arfur
