Most modern applications designed for Windows XP should work just fine on
Windows Vista. If you are not sure about compatibility with Vista, check the
manufacturers website to find out about compatibility, updates, new versions
or patches that will enable compatibility under Vista.

If the software was written properly for XP it shouldn't have a problem
installing on Vista in most cases.

You will probably have to install using 'run as administrator', but
try not to allow the program to startup after installation whilst
you are still running as 'an adminstrator'. If you run the program
first from the appropriate user account, the user specific files
will be set up properly. This is not an absolute rule, but it does
help!

Apps written for Xp will work in Vista, and if it does not work, use the
compatibility tab.

....Also, you can try running in compatibility mode, right click the
applications executable > Properties > Compatibility (tab) under
'Compatibility mode' check box 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
click in the list box and select Windows XP.

In all probability, yes.

What application is it? There's an occasional exception, but the
enormous majority of XP-era applications work just fine in Vista.

This is a property appraising app. I pass on Andre's property suggestion.
I'll let you know if this works or not.

Thanks,

Dennis
