i have a little niggle with indexing on home premium, every time i do a
search i get the message that my searches would be quicker if i turned on
indexing, i turn on indexing but it does not stay turned on, the next time i
do a search i get the same message about turning it on, any suggestions for
making indexing stay on and will this speed up my searches.
I couldn't find anything at all on my machine with indexing enabled.
Now that I have disabled it completely, I can find evrything that I am
looking for.
Vista is (on top of that) a lot faster without indexing enabled !!

Try rebuilding the Search Index, open Control Panel > Indexing Options >
Advanced > select the 'Index Settings' (tab) > under Trouble Shooting >
click 'Rebuild' > OK.
