Only changes to the system from it running yesterday, and running today :
in Firefox 3, the flash player had to be installed. I have no idea what
uninstalled it other than maybe a fumbling finger in the install/uninstall
section. I never saw it get uninstalled.
And I was using my 300 watt power supply yesterday, and installed my 600 watt
PS today.
Everything is running just fine now except for IE.
I wanted to use the chat thing at newegg, and FF couldn't handle it. and IE
wouldn't even start.
do a system restore to a time prior to this problem...
(Im sure you know this) the PSU is just a power supply and has nothing to do
with the error you see...

I'm sure a restore would do the trick, But I learned long ago that restore is
'baby out with the bath water. In addition to the fact that a restore usually
messes up more than it fixes.
What I did do was booted to 'no addons'. Then did a reset.
Overkill.
Then when the problem still existed. Googled this and recalled the problems
with google search toolbar and flash. Deleted my flash stuff from
uninstall/install.
rebooted, it worked.
Then re-installed the flash plugin's from flash site.
Long way, but much faster and simpler than taking a month to put stuff back the
restore ******* up.

System restore is not the same as "system recovery" - or returning
your system to out-of-the-box condition - which I think you are
referring to.
It resets your system settings to an earlier point, and rarely changes
much else.
