Hi!
I have the trouble of icons for Word documents rearranging when I save them.
Let me explain:
I have several Word 2003 documents saved on the desktop and in order to have
some structure, I have arranged them in groups. When I open one of the
documents in Word 2003 and then minimize the window, I find that the place
where the initial Word document icon was placed has been replaced by the
..tmp-file that Word creates when one opens a Word document. When I save the
document the .tmp-file disappears, but the original file is no longer at the
place where I put it, but has moved to the left side of the screen instead.
The result is that I have to rearrange all the icons over and over again.
Does anyone have a good answer to this one?
I am using Vista Home Premium together with Microsoft Office 2003.

Right click the desktop > select 'Sort' and make sure that 'Align to Grid'
is not checked.

Re: Icons for Word-document rearranging when saving
I have already tried to do this, but with no success whatsoever. When I
uncheck the "Align to grid"-option, Windows still shifts position for the
icon in question but with the difference that if I have not placed it on a
place that was aligned with the grid, then the difference in position follows
to the new position as well.
Does anyone have any idea about what to do? I have an Asus laptop with
Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, OEM.
