I looked through all the post on hybernate and none fill my needs. The
problem i have is that when i put it into hybernate after about 30-40 minutes
it powers on. I have no additional programs the only thing is the oem version
of vista Basic . Could anybody advise how can i ghet it mto stay in
hybernate. I checked off all hybernate in power set up. my comp is a table
top . Thanks

This could be your Network adapter refreshing it's network state. Check your
adapters Power Management settings and ensure "Allow this device to wake
computer" is unchecked.

Try this.
Go to Control Panel>Device Manager
Locate your Network Adapter entry and Right click on it and choose
"Properties".
Click on Power Management tab and uncheck the setting "Allow this device to
wake computer"

your Ethernet adapter > click Properties > select Power Management tab and

Well, since he brought it up.....
I've been trying to get my HP PC to sleep or hibernate for a while
now. I've disabled all hardware wake-ups, both from in windows and
from the command line. I've also PHYSICALLY disconnected ethernet,
keyboard, mouse, and all USB connectors, still no luck. "last-wake"
command shows nothing.
Is there a list somewhere of software that can wake the computer? I
figure it has to be software, but no one else has mentioned it....
