Default How to see total files size in current folder as in XP?

Hello,
I thought "this must be simple" but I have searched for this and not
found any solution to this problem...

So how do I get the simple little info that described total size of all
the files in the current folder, as it was in XP? In vista it just
displays the number of elements but not the size.
I know that I can select everything to get that info, but that
shouldn't be necessary and is also annoying.

Simply just hover the cursor over the folder

The most reliable time to upgrade to a new Operating System is at the
end of its life cycle.

Simply just hover the cursor over the folder

That's not answering the question. First, your response implies backing up
a level, and then hovering over the folder. Wait while Vista adds it all
up, and then gives you the size of the folder's files and all the subfolders
files and all the subsubfolders files.... Oops, too much information,
perhaps.

OP (and I) wants to know the total size of the files showing in the
currently open folder. That's what XP shows you in the status bar. Vista
tells you only how much room is left on the drive (so what?)

I also would like to know how to fix this.

Val

If you right click , and select properties, it will give you size and size
on disk.

Theres nothing to fix.......just select the files if you want to
know. A simple CTRL+A is pretty simple.

I'm glad it doesn't show until I ask for that information.

The status bar does not show that information either (without selecting
everything).
