I had tried to see if I could use one monitor for 2 computers and now I'm
unable to get back to the way it was. In display settings they showed screen
1 and 2. I had asked to few screen 2 and that did it. There are no icons,
nothing. Just background. No start either. I am however able to right
click and get to the control panel, but some places will not respond like the
one I need to get to. (Display settings) Safe mode won't even work. Can't
even get to the registry.

Sorry wrong terminology. When you boot tap F8 and then Enable low-resolution
video.
