Having Issues with Windows Security Center not seeing my Antivirus Program
For some reason, I am now getting a "Security Center" pop-up when I start up
my computer. I am using Kapsersky AntiVirus 6, and it was working without
any problems. However, I am now being told that "Kaspersky Anti Virus" is
reporting that it is turned OFF.
And under the "Spyware / Malware Protection", I get a "Windows Defender and
Kaspersky Anti Virus" report that they are turned OFF.
I see that Kaspersky IS indeed running, but rebooting my Vista Ultimate has
not solved the problem.
I was advised to do the following:
1. Temporarily disable the WMI service (Windows management instrumentation)
in: Start >Run > type: services.msc and in there find/stop WMI
2. Next delete the C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository folder
3. Restart the WMI service & restart the computer
That did not fix the problem, but I am now being told (by Windows Security)
that:
Virus Protection - Not Found
Windows Defender is Turned OFF
I try turning it on, but it doesn't do it. I want to make sure that Windows
Defender IS running.
Does anyone have any further ideas how to fix my inital issue?
