I have the following configuration:
drive 1
partition 1: WinXP (drv C)
partition 2: data (drv E)
drive 2
partition 1: data (drv D)
drive 3
partition 1: Vista (drv G) (dual boot with WinXP with MS boot manager)
partition 2: new Vista to experiment with boot-us
DVD burner: Drive F
I was trying out boot-us boot manager with partition 2 of drive 3 but
later on have it removed from the system. However, when I boot into
Vista (partition 1 of drive 3), partition 1 of drive 1 shows up both as
a CD-ROM drive with drive letter C and a hard disk with drive letter
H. If I select property for the CD-ROM, it shows it is a hard drive
partition. Anyway I can delete the CD-ROM reference?
TIA
What does Disk Management say about all this, especially Drive 3 and the DVD
burner?
There are several ways to start Disk Management. The quickest is probably
to Enter: diskmgmt.msc

I'm not familiar with this program. Maybe it has something to do with your
problem, even after you've removed it.

Is diskmgmt.msc the same as when I right click on computer and select
manage, then disk management?
It does not show the the CD-ROM. Only all of my hard drive partitions
and my DVD burner.

Yes, it's the same "snap-in" to the MMC (Microsoft Management Console).
When Disk Management was introduced in Windows 2000, it was buried so deeply
under so many mouse clicks that I started using the command-line shortcut to
get to it. Easier than typing out the whole click-path every time the
subject came up in newsgroups.

In your first post you said:

H. If I select property for the CD-ROM, it shows it is a hard drive

So, WHERE in Vista does the CD-ROM show up as a second Drive C:? In Windows
Explorer?

All I can think of is that your trial of the boot-us boot manager may have
left some confusing trace behind. But since I'm not familiar with boot-us,
that is only a guess. Perhaps some other reader can help you with that.
You asked, "Anyway I can delete the CD-ROM reference?" I say, Yes - but I'm
not sure how, since it already is not shown in Disk Management.
