found new hardware on everything

hi, i was wondering if there's a way to just make things work on vista
when you plug things into the usb ports. im not talking about complex
dongles that require drivers, but something as simple as a 4 port usb
hub or a simple laser mouse. whenever i plug them in the found new
hardware wizard comes up and can't find the drivers needed to make the
dongles work. i had no problems using those same dongles on xp. any
suggestions?
