Default Files Missing

Hello,
In Vista after saving an xml sitemap file to various locations on my C
drive, I cannot view the file via windows explorer and only see it is present
when I attempt to resave it again in the same spot. Any ideas as to why tis
type of file appears invisible in explorer?

Explorer apperently hides the XML files. I read it else where on here. Not
sure how to make it unhide them.(unless you show all system files)

XML contains all kinds of data for programs so they are hidden so people
don't break things I imagine.

If you use the search tab on the start menu
rather than the small search window it will take you
to a search results panel where you can use .xml
as a parameter and the .xml files will be listed.

The small search window only searches indexed files.
