Default Few Questions

1. My browser, IE, takes some time to load pages. Are there any
options that I could switch off, that would not compromise the system,
and would speed up page loading?

2. Regarding searching the hard disk. What are 'Index Locations'?

3. If I want to start a programme from an icon, is the best way to
simply create a shortcut?

Thanks

If only some pages are slow to load, that would suggest an external network
problem or the web server you are using is not responding perhaps due to a
heavy load.

For frequently used applications I create small icons at the left hand end
of my task bar. You can increase the size of this dispaly area. I have five
icons.

1.try turning off the phishing filter, or disabling any IE add on's you have installed.

2. folders on your hard drivers that are included in the index.

3. if it something you use regularly, you can create either or both a desk top icon or a quick link icon. the options are both under right click menu.

Do you use the short-cut method. Or do you use a different technique?

Hi,

Under right click, I seem only to have the 'create shortcut' option?
