1. My browser, IE, takes some time to load pages. Are there any
options that I could switch off, that would not compromise the system,
and would speed up page loading?
2. Regarding searching the hard disk. What are 'Index Locations'?
3. If I want to start a programme from an icon, is the best way to
simply create a shortcut?

If only some pages are slow to load, that would suggest an external network
problem or the web server you are using is not responding perhaps due to a
heavy load.

For frequently used applications I create small icons at the left hand end
of my task bar. You can increase the size of this dispaly area. I have five
icons.

Do you use the short-cut method. Or do you use a different technique?

Hi,
Under right click, I seem only to have the 'create shortcut' option?
