Default FAX with Vista Ultimate

I have Vista Ultimate, I only have a cable modem in my home, no land line
phone. The directions say I should be able to FAX with my cable/modem
connection but have not been successful with "Windows Fax & Scan." The FAX
Modem is "Connected." Ideas??

It looks like, if you don't have a phone line connected to a phone fax
modem, then you can only send thru a fax server...

Hi,

You need a land line and analog modem to fax locally. With a cable modem
(which is not a modem at all), you need to subscribe to an internet fax
service.
