Default f8 not working / vista safe mode

Is there a workaround to get Vista in safe mode when the f8 key doesn't work?
I know in XP, there was msconfig -> boot.ini -> safe boot -> networking.

If your keyboard has a F-Lock key, press it before pressing
the F8 key in order to access Safe Mode.
