Default DWM and video playback

Hi,

I have an important question concerning the behavior of the desktop
window manager when processing video stream with Direct3D 9.

The reason of the question is problem with
my multimedia application that tries to play a video stream with 25 fps
in a maximized glass window (not full screen mode).
In opposite to the none-aero mode the play back
is bucking and we have a large CPU load.

Do we have to adjust the frame rate of the dwm
in order to solve this performance trouble?
Are there any recommendations to handle
video playback in a special way when the DWM
is active ?

T.I.A.
