After today’s windows update, only one of my dual monitors works. I checked
the display panel and it doesn’t recognize the 2nd monitor. I did a systems
restore to eliminate the update, but my 2nd monitor still isn’t recognized.
Both monitors are connected properly. MY OS is Windows Home Premium and my
Graphics card is a NVIDA 7900 GForce GS. Can someone please help?

Sorry I cannot help you. I can say, that I have dual monitors working under
Ubuntu just fine. So I know it's possible.

Can you not enable the second monitor in the Settings tab of Display
Properties in Control Panel?

First, check the nVidia website to be sure you have the latest Vista
compatible drivers for the card. Second, reinstall the drivers. NOTE: this
may require first removing the drivers before reinstalling them.

I have the same problem! It has to be one of the windows updates, because
I've done several clean installs of Vista home premium and it works fine
along with the latest drivers installed. Then once I update the second
monitor disappears. In display settings it only shows one monitor. In
device manager, however, it shows two monitors.
I hope someone has a solution! I've been looking for this for awhile.

Hmmm.... I just set up my new machine running two 22" widescreens off of an
NVidia 8800 card... After I installed my Windows updates and restarted my PC,
one of my displays had dissapeared... Both the NVidia control panel and
Windows Display Settings show one monitor enabled, and when I try to enable
the other, it gives me the prompt about keeping changes. After accepting,
nothing changes and my settings are reverted back. This is a strange issue,
but at least I know I'm not the only one now. Did any of you find a fix yet?
