I encounter a problem when using the Drive Cleaner utility. When running it,
2 very large (170 Gb!) files show up having something to do with Windows
Error Reports. I have deleted one of them and my second HD (D was
completely gone! All files away. But I made a backup.
Anyone recognized this too?
Do you have a solution?
Where does Vista store the Drive Cleaning results and/or the Error Reports?
I have a clean registry (CCleaner) and Norton/ Windows One Care running. No
spyware is found by several programs.
I got the same problem running McAfee Backup utility in auto.
It creates absolutely large error files if you try to use it for backing up
admin privileged folders (i.e. Search Index) and it's nearly impossible to
disable once turned on. (Remove all directories in the options for backup
directories, then remove the error files.)
Might be something similar going on with OneCare.
Erase the file, but keep the location open. When the file starts generating
again, open it in notepad and determine the offending program.
