When I display the properties of Drive C: it reports 59.1 gb. I just did a
full backup of drive C: (non-compressed) and it reports: Folders Created:
17173; Files Copied: 143024 (26949973990 bytes)
Ok...right click, properties...nothing unusual. No mention of shadow.
Can I turn the shadow thing off?

Probably system restore
System Volume Information would be a hidden folder
Solved: Right Click Computer / Properties / System Protection then click on
System protection tab. I removed the check mark from drive C: then clicked
apply. Drive C: properties now shows 26.9 gb. I put the check mark back
for drive C:
It's incredible that "restore points" doubled the size of the drive
contents.
Thank you for the inspiration.
