Have seen this raised a few times but still no solution seems to work for me.
When I first installed Dreamscene it worked fine for a few months. Then I
got a message saying Dreamscene had encountered a problem and was being
disabled. Since then I have not been able to use it as a desktop backround as
all I get is a black screen.
The videos are playing as if I choose one with sound I can hear the sound
fine. If I run the video in Media Player it plays fine. I have tried both
MPEG and WMV format videos and neither makes a difference.
Have you tried installing the latest video card drivers? This may clear up
the issue. Also, Dreamscene was recently released out of beta as a download.
You may want to check your Vista Ultimate Extras and see if a new version is
available.
Let me know if this works!

Have downloaded the latest Dreamscene offerings via Windows Update and my
video drivers are the latest ones offered by ASUS for the EAX1950 Pro card.
