Default DIVX Software

Gentlemen stop trying to get the software to work with Vista, ain't going to
happen.
Yet another Third Party software vendor, that has to come up with a fix.
This appears all the time as you well know and until these vendors and
Microsoft put fixes out there we're stuck. Microsoft's MSN Games even shows
compatibility problem messages, go figure. They just had to rush to market
before everyone was ready.

Anyone's FYI:

You don't ever "need" to install Divx software.

ffshow is much better for both XP and Vista.

In fact, most codec issues with Vista are solved with ffshow.

I use ffshow to play all my Divx videos in Vista, it works well.

Be aware that this codec has limitations in Vista, as the prompt screen
will note when an install is attempted.

Interesting. Despite several installs, and verifying that DIVX is
enabled, the codec is not seen here for DIVX video, using Vista Ultimate.

The DIVX.com 6.5.1 codec does work, but disables AERO and has other
limitations in Vista.
