delays in vista

Hello I have a couple of delays in my vista I cannot seem to fathom out. One
is when I am downloading something from the net it sits on 99% downloaded
for ages and then finally decides to say download complete the other is
extracting zip files it stays on time remaining calculating for ages before
it extracts to the folder anyone got any ideas please?

I must say at the moment I am hating vista operating system with all its
problems I have 2ghz processor and 1gb of RAM and I still cant believe the
amount of time its faffing about - tempted to go back to XP if it don't sort
itself out soon!

Some people who reported the same issues reported back it was their antivirus
program that caused the delays. While I don't recommend you turn yours off,
you might try some kind of sensible test.

Got to the bottom of it - Uninstalled Norton internet Security 2007 and
after that the delay seems to have gone now!!
Must have been some conflict there somewhere.
